FCM'S ROBERT STEWART RECIEVES ANOTHER PRESTIGIOUS AWARD
FCM’s Robert Stewart MICWCI receives a second ‘Building on Quality Award’ for his involvement with the Abney Park project.
The Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) held its 17th ‘Building on Quality Awards’ gala dinner and awards presentation at the Gleddoch Spa & Golf Resort in Langbank, Scotland, on Saturday 11th May 2024.
Robert Stewart of FCM received a ‘Highly Commended’ award for his involvement with project to renovate and restore Abney Park in Stoke Newington, one of the ‘Magnificent Seven’ garden cemeteries of London, which is a woodland memorial park and Local Nature Reserve, managed by the London Borough of Hackney.
This is Robert's second consecutive award in the competition which recognises the UK's finest Clerks of Works and showcases their talents in achieving the very best quality of build and finish for their clients.
The bi-annual competition is open to all members of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) which is the professional body that supports quality construction through inspection.
Robert is a knowledgeable and conscientious Clerk of Works who formed an excellent working relationship with all parties involved. The judges were very impressed with the way Robert took a leading role in ensuring that the Grade 2 listed project completed with restorations to the very highest standards and FCM are very proud that he is one of the team.
Robert is also the Hon. Secretary of the London Chapter of the ICWCI which meets monthly to provide networking and CDP to London's Clerks of Works.
Roberts Award was presented by the newly elected President on the ICWCI, Mr Paul Coward FICWCI and the immediate past President Mr Jerry Shoolbred FICWCI.
