Robert Stewart FICWCI receives a ‘Building on Quality Award’ for his involvement with Victoria House in Bloomsbury Square, London

The Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) held its 18^th ‘Building on Quality Awards’ gala dinner and awards presentation at the Winchester Royal Hotel on the 16^th May.

Robert Stewart received an award for his involvement with Victoria House in Bloomsbury Square, London.

“This award is given to Robert Stewart, a Clerk of Works who over time has achieved consistency in all of his projects. This one in particular was a difficult and challenging high-end heritage project requiring multiple disciplines which had to be seamlessly coordinated in this very prestigious and very challenging live site. His involvement and assistance in bringing in specialist contractors and delivering high quality was obvious throughout, and his client focus and interaction was excellent. A great state of the art restoration of this neoclassical, grade 2 listed building with state of art, cutting-edge laboratories; renovated with great care to incorporate the latest technological innovations”

Following the awards, Robert Stewart said:

The Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate has for many years conducted biennial awards that recognises the skills and abilities of Clerks of Works/Site Inspectors (or those of similar calling) within the construction process.  Working primarily for the client, it is their knowledge and diligence that ensure, through rigorous and detailed inspection and reporting, that value for money in terms of both materials and workmanship is achieved.
